Maguindanao Massacre – More or less 35 were Killed Mostly Civilians and Media Men

May 2010 Election is merely 6 months away, but as early as today November 23, 2009, the first reported violence related to the coming election already happened. The Maguindanao massacre is the worst election related killings as I can remember here in the country. More or less 35 were killed mostly civilians and media men.

What happened today just convey to everybody that Philippines is the dirtiest, worst and unsafe election. Not just on election seasons, people are not that safe specially in those areas in Mindanao where the Muslim rebels and other related rebel groups are located. I don’t think the government should treat these groups as babies, the government should tighten the belt and probably declare an all out war until these groups surrender or even get all killed.

The news said that the perpetrators are not yet identified, but who else can do such gruesome things to innocent victims? I think we already know the answers. It says on the report that “a group of about 100 armed men abducted them” if these armed men were not military then who else? I should think they are private armies and/or Muslim rebels. The government have long been doing negotiations, peace talks and whatever bull shit they are doing with these groups but look, until now we are still receiving reports of kidnapping, massacre and other killings in those areas in Mindanao. Maybe the government or the military or whatever f*ck*ng government agency or department should change their style in handling those bandits.

Maybe peace talks and pathetic negotiations are not that effective for these rebels or groups, how about all-out war? US troops are ready to help if the government permits. Why should we be so reluctant about the US troops helping us to fight against these rebel groups, if in reality we really need their help to stop those rebel groups or if not maybe just to reduce their crimes and other activities?

It has been reported that the abduction was politically motivated, but Mangudadatu’s political rivals doesn’t have to kill/massacre large number of people just to stop him from running into the office, there should be other reason than just politics.

LA Times article about the massacre said “Mindanao is home to numerous armed groups, including Muslim rebels fighting for self-rule in the predominantly Roman Catholic nation, and political warlords and gangs who wage war against one another.”

Yeah political warlords are rampant in the Philippines and mostly those political warlords are handling high positions in the government, so how could it be stop if we are to vote and vote and vote for them over and over again in every elections. Some politicians are having private armies which to my knowledge are not allowed in the Philippine constitution but have been freely conducted on different areas in the country by some politicians.

We don’t need to live like we are not safe on our everyday endeavour of life. We live in this democratic country and we have the right to live peacefully on this land and yet we are not safe. We need to elect the right person, the one who can work things out for our own good. We don’t need sissy leaders, we don’t need pathetic corrupt leaders to lead us, and we don’t need TRAPO leaders to run the office on the government. We need to choose wisely if we don’t want the same massacre to happen again.

I am so sad about what happened to those victims and to those media men who are just doing their jobs. After hearing the sad news, I was having like a big sigh because I cannot help it but felt so sad about it and at the same time felt enraged that those perpetrators are doing it freely here in the Promise Land.

I just hope those people who did this and those people behind this will pay, they will have to pay.
