Batasan Complex Bomb Explosion Attack
The Glorieta Bombing is still an unresolved case until now and here again the government has been attacked by some terrorist acts. Beside of the tight security at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in the House of Representatives, why would still the bomber can still penetrate inside the building to plant the bomb? That is very questionable for me… I really thought even a fire cracker shouldn’t get inside but what happened we have another explosion. I just hope this is not an inside job to destabilize the government, because if that really is the case then we especially the Government should take a thorough investigation to solve this case.
Update:
The explosion killed three people, including Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar, and injured at least seven others.
ABS-CBN News – Several people, including two congressmen, were injured following the explosion at the Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City Tuesday night.
An initial report said Rep. Luz Ilagan of party-list group Gabriela sustained shrapnel wounds on her right leg.
A related online report, meanwhile, said Ilagan’s driver, Marcial Talbo, died in the blast.
Congressmen Wahab Akbar of Basilan was also injured in the blast that took place outside the session hall. The explosion happened near Ilagan’s Lite-Ace van that was parked outside the building’s south wing.
Gabriela party-list Rep. Liza Maza told dzMM they heard a loud explosion after Tuesday’s adjournment session at 8 p.m.
“Five minutes after, we heard a loud explosion. Noong sinilip namin may koste o sasakyan na umaapoy sa may south lobby. Pero nandoon din ang sasakyan ni [Congresswoman] Ilagan (When we checked out there was a vehicle burning near the south lobby. The van of Congresswoman Ilagan was also there),” said Maza.
Maza said the burning vehicle was identified as Akbar’s Toyota Fortuner sport utility vehicle.
Most of the injured were rushed to General Malvar hospital on Commonwealth Avenue.
ABS-CBN News correspondent Doland Castro reported that eight people were injured in the blast.
Firemen rushed to the scene to put out the flames that resulted from the blast.
A video footage taken immediately after the blast showed that it ripped through a portion of the building’s south wing.
