Last February 6, Ex Alaska Governor Sarah Palin slash Ex Vice Presidential candidate was caught reading answers written on her hand. Mrs. Palin was asked about her priorities at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville and she answered by reading the answer from her hand in a rather suspicious manner. The whole thing was caught on camera that caused the public raising their eyebrows. Definitely, she is not a good actress. (LOL)

Why raising eyebrows because In an ironic twist during the speech, Ms. Palin worked in a jab against President Obama’s often-mocked use of TelePrompTers.

Web researchers zoomed in on her left palm and found the following words scrawled in black ink: “Energy, Budget cuts (with “budget” crossed out), Tax, Lift American Spirits.”

Who needs a TelePrompTers now?

I have recieved some complaints from few friends that they feel like an alien when they are using Facebook, that is why they stick to the once upon a time became number 1 Social Networking site of the Philippines years ago… FRIENDSTER”. But if they are used with FB and now that FB keeps on updating for the benefits of its users. I am sure they will leave the FS for good and migrate to today’s number one Social Networking site, FACEBOOK.

The new facebook homepage has been updated to a new look. They said it is “A simplified design provides easy access to your entire Facebook experience.”

These updates was created for the user to have ease of use and to:

• See new requests, messages and notifications grouped together by the Facebook logo.
• Easily access your messages, applications and chat on the left side of the page.
• Manage privacy settings and log out using the Account menu above.

They grouped some functions and applications to simply locate them easily everytime you are updating your account like:

1. Icons for requests, notifications, and messages light up when there’s something new you won’t want to miss.
2. The Account Menu contains links to important settings pages. It’s also where you can go to find help or log out.
3. The Basics — Search, Home and Profile — are accessible at the top of every page.
4. Core Features such as News Feed, Messages and your Friends – are at the top, making it easier to keep up with what’s new.
5. Applications you’ve bookmarked have moved up the page for easy access. The new Applications and Games dashboards help you discover new and interesting information from your friends.
6. Friends Online provides quick links to chat with your friends, or quickly go online yourself. To edit your options, find Facebook Chat in the bottom bar.

So, there you go! I hope these new updates can satisfy the users of FB because I am.

Rosanna Roces asked one member of the contestants from Calamba Laguna about the Jose Rizal thing and because he cannot answer correctly Osang told him “Murahin mo yung Teacher mo ha… ako minura ko teacher ko nung di niya sinagot sa akin yan… Oo, walang hiya yang mga teacher na yan di sinasabi ang totoo sa akin eh… dahil ang mga teachers they were just repeaters…”

I think Rosanna Roces hates teachers… wait ano ba natapos ni Osang? Anyway, because of what Osang imparted on the show for the young viewers, your favorite Showtime is suspended for 20 days. Yeah, 20 days because of that brilliant loquacious osang. Since the show is live the producer, director and stuff are too late to omit that scene, well… live shows are like that anyway… you cannot expect that all the time are perfect and you don’t know there is a lot of things happened that you are not aware at the moment the show is going on.

So, I think ABS-CBN will thank Rosanna Roces for that… she is making it controversial and whatever bad or good publicity is still a publicity. But I don’t think ABS is happy with that. The show is a hit and I personally is an avid viewer, but look what happened? Tomorrow I will not see some good indisputable entertainment. I think I am just going to wait and stick to Wowowee every lunch break! LOL!

David Beckham enjoyed a winning return to the AC Milan side as they outclassed Genoa 5-2 at the San Siro.

Long-term exposure to mobile phone radiation may help to protect against Alzheimer’s, US scientists say.

After all the concern over possible damage to health from using mobile phones, scientists have found a potential benefit from radiation.
Their work has been carried out on mice, but it suggests mobiles might protect against Alzheimer’s.

Florida scientists found that phone radiation actually protected the memories of mice programmed to get Alzheimer’s disease.

They are now testing more frequencies to see if they can get better results.

The study by the Florida Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centre is published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Film director Roman Polanski asks a US judge to sentence him in absentia over the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

“It’s time everyone flies” That’s what Cebu Pacific Airline’s tag line. But according to a TV report last December 23, 2009 when Cebu Pacific personnel purportedly asked Mylene Alcantara’s son to get off a flight from Hong Kong bound to Manila for the reason that her child is a “special child”.

The Airline crew said that it is stated in the manual that disallows two mentally-ill person on-board the plane. A kid with Down Syndrome had already boarded the plane, prior to Mylene’s son, that is why they push not to let Alcantara’s son be in flight. Legal counsel, Salvador Panelo, said Cebu Pacific had no basis in prodding the special child to leave. “Special children are not qualified as mentally-ill passengers”, that is why Mylene press charges against the said Airline for civil and criminal.

Eventually Mylene’s son was allowed on the flight going to Manila, but still it causes embarrassment, humiliation on the mother’s part and it is also the reason why the flight was delayed for an hour.

“They did it in front of the passengers, without them knowing what’s happening. Baka pwede nila isipin na (They might think) I committed a crime or whatever. It’s very discriminating,” Alcantara told GMA reporter Ivan Mayrina.

Cebu Pacific said it has already apologized to the Alcantara family for the incident and to the affected passengers. But that doesn’t stop the Alcantara to press the charges.

Salvador Panelo said on the report that the Airline even offered to the family a free flight anytime this year for the trouble they have caused.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. might have been so pressured and stressed to think of fighting Manny Pacquiao that is why he keep bashing Pacman with words that he think might distract the champion. Nice try Floyd, but I think you and Manny will not just see and fight inside the ring but you will also see him in court.

Here’s the statement posted Friday on his (Pacman) Web site  “Enough is enough. These people, Mayweather Sr., Jr., and Golden Boy Promotions, think it is a joke and a right to accuse someone wrongly of using steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs. “I have instructed my promoter, Bob Arum, head of Top Rank Inc., to help me out in the filing of the case as soon as possible because I have had people coming over to me now asking if I really take performance-enhancing drugs and I have cheated my way into becoming the No. 1 boxer in the world,” said Pacquiao.

Libel, slander and defamation suits are being readied against the accused to once and for all clear out Pacquiao’s good name and character.

“I maintain and assure everyone that I have not used any form or kind of steroids and that my way to the top is a result of hard work, hard work, hard work and a lot of blood spilled from my past battles in the ring, not outside of it,” added the Filipino champion who just turned 31 a week ago. “I have no idea what steroids look like and my fear in God has kept me safe and victorious through all these years.”

“Now, I say to Floyd Mayweather Jr., don’t be a coward and face me in the ring, mano-a-mano and shut your big, pretty mouth, so we can show the world who is the true king of the ring,” said Pacquiao, who has been contemplating on filing a case against Mayweather Sr. even before the start of his Nov. 14 fight with Miguel Angel Cotto. “I did not sue because I did not want to get distracted during that time because I was preparing for one of the toughest fights in my career.”

“Pretty Boy Floyd, face me instead on March 13 in Las Vegas and not in some talk show forum or in press releases written for you by people who don’t even know me. Face me in a fight where I get to punch back. You and your cohorts have accused me of using performance-enhancing drugs. Now, I say, the burden of proof should now come from you, not me,” said Pacquiao, the only seven-time, seven-weight division champion in the history of the sport.

“These people think they are doing the sport a great service. They are not,” added Pacquiao. “To Floyd, despite all these accusations, may your Christmas be merry and I will see you in court, soon, too.”

I am a ‘DEXTER’ TV series addict for 4 seasons now and Season 4 finale is the best for me so far. I didn’t see that coming after Dex killed and disposed Arthur Michell, he went home to take his things and catch up with Rita but he found her at the bathroom’s bathtub soaked with her own blood and baby Harrison is crying with his mom’s blood all over the floor.

Gawd! My eyes were like an owl’s watching that scene. I didn’t expect Rita will be killed in the series. Aside from the fact that she is Dexter’s wife, Rita’s velvety and soft-spoken character will be wipe out on the story? I was still in shock while writing this post.

Because of that, I will surely hang on for the next season, but I can’t wait of what will be the twist of the story after that ending. Will Harrison becomes like his father? What will happen between Joey Quinn and Dexter’s dispute next season? And what about Dark Passenger? There are lots of unanswered questions to meet yet, so I really need to watch the next season, hope they will air it sooner.

I don’t watch TV often but I consider myself a Kapamilya, because most of the people at home tuned in to ABS-CBN. But I don’t really stick to one station, I also watch GMA-7 and other networks. But I usually tuned in to Discovery Channel on my free time or HBO, AXN, and sometimes Disney Channel and Cartoon network.

Anyway, speaking of Kapamilya, I just love their new Christmas Station ID entitled “Star ng Pasko”. I just love the message and the video of the station ID. So here’s the video of the Station ID and the lyrics of the song.

The Kapamilya network launched its Christmas station ID (SID) put together by its Creative Communications Management (CCM) group. This years SID features not only the networks stars and broadcasters, but ordinary people from different sectors as well.

The five-minute SID which was performed by more than 300 talents pooled together for the project, reflects the unsinkable spirit of the Filipinos.

Proposed legislation would impose the death penalty for some gay Ugandans, and their family and friends could face up to seven years in jail if they fail to report them to authorities. Even landlords could be imprisoned for renting to homosexuals.

Gay rights activists say the bill, which has prompted growing international opposition, promotes hatred and could set back efforts to combat HIV/AIDS. They believe the bill is part of a continentwide backlash because Africa’s gay community is becoming more vocal.

“It’s a question of visibility,” said David Cato, who became an activist after he was beaten up four times, arrested twice, fired from his teaching job and outed in the press because he is gay. “When we come out and ask for our rights, they pass laws against us.”

The legislation has drawn global attention from activists across the spectrum of views on gay issues. The measure was proposed in Uganda following a visit by leaders of U.S. conservative Christian ministries that promote therapy for gays to become heterosexual. However, at least one of those leaders has denounced the bill, as have some other conservative and liberal Christians in the United States.

Gay rights activists say the legislation is likely to pass. But the bill is still being debated and could undergo changes before a vote, which has not yet been set.

The Ugandan legislation in its current form would mandate a death sentence for active homosexuals living with HIV or in cases of same-sex rape. “Serial offenders” also could face capital punishment, but the legislation does not define the term. Anyone convicted of a homosexual act faces life imprisonment.

Anyone who “aids, abets, counsels or procures another to engage of acts of homosexuality” faces seven years in prison if convicted. Landlords who rent rooms or homes to homosexuals also could get seven years and anyone with “religious, political, economic or social authority” who fails to report anyone violating the act faces three years. As world markets absorbed the shock of Dubai’s debt crisis, the ruler of the once-booming city-state left town for an important meeting in a desert palace.

Abu Dhabi has the cash and cache to be Dubai’s white knight — in a Gulf version of a too-big-to-fail bailout or to help calm markets with promises to intervene if Dubai’s fiscal mess deepens.

Just this month, Dubai’s ruler, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, assured international investors that all was well with Dubai’s finances and told media critics to “shut up.”

“Depleting market confidence in Dubai carries serious risks for Abu Dhabi,” said Hani Sabra of Eurasia Group, a U.S.-based research firm that assesses political risk for foreign investors in Dubai and the Gulf.

“Differences between the two city-states remain on how to approach the economy and the financial crisis,” Sabra added. “But now Abu Dhabi is obviously the more dominant emirate.”

Dubai’s empty pockets — mostly drained by collapsing real estate prices and over-ambitious development plans — touched off panic selling across world markets on fears that the reckoning from the global recession is not over.

Yet Abu Dhabi’s largesse may be reaching some limits. On the same day that Dubai announced its debt payment “standstill,” two Abu Dhabi-controlled banks bought $5 billion in Dubai bonds for a stopgap cash infusion, but went no further.

“I guess Abu Dhabi is saying there will be no blank check for Dubai,” said Jane Kinninmont, a London-based specialist on Gulf economies at the Economist Intelligence Unit.

What Abu Dhabi could get for their money, however, is greater long-term influence over Dubai’s development policies. That would essentially mean giving the wealthy and more conservative rulers in the UAE’s capital the task of trying to rein in Dubai after years of living beyond its means.

Christopher Davidson, an expert in Emirate affairs at Britain’s Durham University, wondered if Abu Dhabi wanted to become too deeply involved in lifting Dubai from its fiscal wreckage.

“There is no point throwing good money into Dubai’s black holes,” Davidson said. “These are mistakes of Sheik Mohammed and he needs to deal with them.”

Bummer! Mininova only limits its activities to content distribution service and now, all users around the world who rely on MININOVA.ORG are all sad, very sad and that including me because I am a FAN, USER and VISITOR of that beloved website.

Unfortunately the court ruling leaves Mininova.org to no other option than to take their platform offline, except for the Content Distribution service.

OH NO! now that is very sad… soooo sad! Mininova.org is considered dead site if that is the only option they can do.

Hi all,

Today is an important day in the history of Mininova. From now on, we are limiting Mininova.org to our Content Distribution service. By doing so, we comply with the ruling of the Court of Utrecht of last August.

Unfortunately the court ruling leaves us no other option than to take our platform offline, except for the Content Distribution service. According to the verdict (Dutch link) we have to prevent uploads of torrents to Mininova that refer to certain titles or to similar-looking titles. We’ve been testing some filtering systems the last couple of months, but we found that it’s neither technically nor operationally possible to implement a 100% working filter system. Therefore, we decided that the only option is to limit Mininova to Content Distribution torrents from now on. We are still considering an appeal at this moment.

We launched our Content Distribution service in 2007. This service allows producers and artists to easily publish and distribute their content for free through Mininova. The launch of Content Distribution has proven to be a success. Countless content owners have used Content Distribution to distribute their content (e.g. albums and documentaries) for free to millions of users. For example, the Dutch band Silence is Sexy released their complete album on Mininova and received the Interactive Award 2009 for doing so. The Dutch television broadcaster VPRO decided to start using Content Distribution in 2009 in order to distribute documentaries.
